Minutes / Actions / Matters Arising !

  • The same committee was ellected un-opposed
  • PJ Harte proposed that the club purchase a clubhouse of some sort. Containers were ruled out as being unpractical. A preference was expressed for some sort of portacabin. PJ to try to locate a suitable one.
  • We would continue the current grass cutting arrangements with Garrett Fox. Will try to negotiate a lower rate.
  • Now that we have a car park, suggested holding a fly-in this summer. Ron Owens to investigate.
  • MACI rules have now changes for B-Cert. You can now do the B-Cert exam at your own field. Will try to arrange for A-certs and B-Certs in the coming months

  • The same committee was ellected un-opposed
  • PJ Harte appointed as safey officer
  • decided that new members should join club before aby substantial time is spent on training/plane preparation etc
  • PJ asked if he could hold a Heli event on the field and have exclusive use of the field for the day. Nobody had any objections
  • Parking is still a problem. During the summer months, members are encouraged to drive into the field and free up the roadside parking spaces. This would be essential for holding events / fly-ins etc.
  • Mark Mulveen volunteered to produce club tee-shirts, printed with the club logo.

Venue: Anno Santo Hotel. Date: Mar 1st. 2005 Time: 22:00

Minutes / Actions / Matters Arising !

  • Increase fee to €60 for seniors (juniors stay the same).
  • Apply a speed limit of 20mph (32kph) on approach road to field.
  • Give new members a copy of the club rules.
  • Give rules to shop for potential members (including advice about transmitter frequency collisions - dangers there of.)
  • Get email addresses of members and make mailing list.
  • Continue to use the services of Keith Fox, our grass cutter.

Grass Cutting

A person has been found to cut our grass. It will be cut weekly on a Thursday or Friday from now until the end of September (approx)

  • Jonathon Margets to investigate cost of a commercial grass cutting service. He will also see what cost a good second hand mower will cost. Pete Wells will kindly donate a wooden shed if we need one to store a mower (transport details to be worked out). [Grass cutter found. He cuts the grass every Thursday or Friday]
  • Paul Whitehouse-Tedd is the new club treasurer. MACI fees are now due (€60 Seniors $15 Juniors). It was decided to start collecting club fees at the same time (€40 Seniors, €15 Juniors). New members joining from March to August will pay full fees. Members joining in Sep to Nov will pay half fees, those joining in Dec to March will pay full fees but this will voer them for the next year (i.e. 15 months). Fund from the old Galway club have been been transferred to the club.
  • Ron, PaulH and PaulWT to open a bank account next Monday.[Done]
  • Car Parking. PJ Harte to investigate the cost and practicality of constructing car parking facilities.
  • Ron Owens to produce a beginners safety guidlines document. New member will be briefed using this document and copies will be left at ModelWorld shop for distribution to people buying planes.
  • Ron Owens will try to borrow a frequency scanner to see is there any noticable interference from the other flying field.[Unable to find one]
  • The presence of a full size plane flying low has caused some worry. We will try to note the planes registration and contact the owner to warn him/her of the danger.
