Some pages from a 1970’s issue of RCM&E. Around this year, I discovered my first issue of Radio Modeler and it planted the first seeds of interest in RC. I started trying control-line flying for a few years but could never get the hang of it. RC was far beyond my budget so I lost interest onto to have it re-kindled many years later, 1987 to be exact!

Today, a typical radio set will set you back approx £120.
Back, in 1970, it would have cost the equivalent of £2,500.
